Dr. Andrew Scull PhD

 

Prof. Andrew Scull is the Distinguished Professor of Sociology Emeritus at the University of California at San Diego, who is widely regarded as one of the world’s most preeminent historians on mental disease and the practice of psychiatry. Prof. Scull holds degrees from Oxford, an MA and PhD in sociology from Princeton and completed post doctoral work in medical history from University College London. He has received many honors, has been listed in Who’s Who in America, and sits on the editorial board of several academic journals such as “History of Psychiatry,” and “Medical History”.  Andrew has appeared in PBS documentaries Mysteries of Mental Illness and The Lobotomist and written over twenty books. His book “Madness in Civilization” is regarded as a classic on the history of mental disorders. His most recent book "Desperate Remedies: Psychiatry's Turbulent Quest to Cure Mental Illness" chronicles psychiatry's American history of bad science, false promises, power and greed and a blatant disregard for patients' well being.

Ezili Danto is Haitian-American international human rights attorney, political activist and award winning playwright and poet. She is the founding president of the Haitian Lawyers Leadership Network, which is the leading Haitian voice to protect Haitian's civil rights against Western humanitarian and capitalist colonialism and nefarious activities incluing criminalization of poverty, indefinite detention of political prisoners, women and child sex trafficking, orphanage abuse and misappropriation of humanitarian aid.  Zili has become recognized as the foremost legal analyst about the island nation and was the legal foreign consultant to Haiti's first elected president Jean Bertrand Aristide. Scott Ritter is a former US Marine Corp intelligence officer and military strategist during the Cold War with the Soviet Union and in the Middle East. He served as a lead analyst for Marine deployment during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the Iran-Iraq war. During Operation Desert Storm, Scott was the ballistic missile advisor to General Schwarzkopf. Later he assumed the role of the lead United Nations weapons inspector for seven years overseeing the disarmament of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and biological agents program.
